Be a Light! Shine Bright!
Have you ever been around someone who RADIATES? - I mean they are lit from within and it shines forth from their eyes - from the window of their soul…
Light is not about having wealth and health, or the perfect job and family, or having the latest and greatest _______________. (you fill in the blank)
True Light can not be bottled and sold.
I experienced first hand people shining with Light so bright it lit up not only their smiles but those around them.
It was contagious.
I was in Kenya and I had the opportunity to meet some girls at a rural school. By our US standard they were living in poverty. They did not have any of the “stuff” that pre-teen girls here have - no cell phones, no closet full of clothes and shoes, no Instant Camera, … Weekends were not spent binging on favorite TV shows or at the movies/pizza with friends. Their homes provided no running water, no electricity. They walked mile(s) to school, often through dangerous environments. And yet -
They were BURSTING with Light - a Light so bright that it shone forth from their smiles, their giggles, their sweetness.
When you look at their picture - you can almost feel the Light. It is THAT Bright!

I think about those girls and the other children and adults that I had the opportunity to meet in Africa. I am always in awe of their Light. I will never forget the feelings I experienced being around them - joy, love, peace.

There are three important Truths to embrace regarding our own Light:
1.~ “Don’t shine so others can see you. Shine so that through you others can see Him.” C.S. Lewis
We shine OUT what we fill IN with. Replenish your soul with God’s Light - with the fruit of the Spirit -
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control
Galatians 5: 22-23
Shine your Light back to the One who gave you Light. This is WHY we shine.
2.~ Shine your Light in order to help guide others.
The world can be a dark and dim place.
People are living in internal darkness.
The light in their soul is growing dim or has already blown out.
Shine your Light brightly on them, thereby lighting their path with your Spirit’s fruit - love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self -control.
Some ways to shine our Light on others - a smile, a laugh, a kind response, taking a pause before answering in love, letting someone cut in front, listening, being fully present, a “thank you”…
Again -
True Light can not be bottled and sold!
It freely gleams with Love.
3.~ Spend time in the Light.
Take time daily to recharge your Light.
Shining our Light can be draining and our Light eventually may grow DIM unless we give our souls time to refresh, rejuvenate and recharge.
Take time for YOU today - through prayer, meditation, “pause” (www.heatherdiascoaching.com/blog/the-transformational-pause), to replenish your LIGHT. It is about going to the source of Light, God, DAILY -
to be filled with His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Only after replenishing our Light are we able to point others back to the one true Light.
Be a Light! Shine Bright!
So inspiring!!!❤️
